Oolong
is a partially fermented tea, ranging from 10-50% fermentation.
Partial fermentation lends a unique combination of the freshness
of green tea and the mellowness of black tea. Taiwan produces
the most exquisite of all oolongs due to the highly refined
processing technology as well as the artful tea masters.
Taiwan
High Mountain Oolong belongs in a class its own for tea
connoisseurs. Holsomes High Mountain Oolong is produced
in the Lu San region of central Taiwan at a minimum of 2,000
meters (>6,500 ft) above sea level.
The
Unique growing conditions of cooler temperatures, foggy
nights, misty days, short sun exposure and rich forest soil
gift the tea with an extraordinarily rich taste and aroma.
Holsome
employs an exclusively contracted tea processing facility
in Lu San, through which the highest quality tea leaves
are personally scouted for and contracted. Only the finest
spring and late winter harvests by skilled workers are sold
at Holsome.
At
Holsome, our Oolong is processed with minimal fermentation
to yield a special Green Oolong which affords
a sweet, flowery and fruity bouquet. The tea has a garden
green color with no bitterness, even after multiple brewings.
Holsome
offers Spring and Winter tea in Supreme and
Special grades, the two highest grades available
in production. For a limited quantity and a limited time,
Holsome offers prize winning competition grade tea in April
