Pouchong is a slightly fermented tea, with a degree of fermentation between that of Green Tea and Oolong tea.

Pouchong is only produced in northern Taiwan. The most renowned production region is Wen ShaN, located in northeastern Taipei.

The finished tea displays a lively dark-green color and is formed into string shape by a special rolling process.

The tea has a golden color with a touch of jade green hue. A superb Pouchong is characterized by a fresh flowery bouquet. Its taste is mild and slightly sweet. It is less astringent and should have a slight bitter taste. Recommended brewing temperature is 185-195 F.
